MobilizeGreen is building a new generation of leaders.  The MobilizeGreen Annual Conference and Diversity Career Fair will inspire, motivate, and connect the next generation of environmental and sustainability leaders with employers seeking a talent pool that reflects the rich demographic mix of America’s rapidly changing workforce.

MobilizeGreen should not stop doing this conference. It is an amazing opportunity for the people that really want to be a part of a green organization and really do something to change the world.

Empowerment. organizing. SOCIAL CHANGE.

We know that low-income communities and communities of color are at the frontline of harsh environmental conditions.  We know that many organizations are seeking to diversify the environmental movement.  And we know that Congress is in the middle of a debate about the best way to tackle climate change.  The moment is ripe to mobilize communities and develop new ideas to address the biggest challenges of our time.

This year’s conference theme is:  Empowering Young Adults for Social Action:  Mobilizing for Environmental Change.  The two-day event will bring together the next generation of diverse green leaders to help communities solve equity and environmental challenges.

Learn from DeJuana L. Thompson’s (Think Rubix, LLC) experience organizing at the local level to empower underserved communities to solve equity issues. Gain insight from Brandon Whitney (ioby) about how to organize digital capital “in your back yard.” Finally, hear from Leslie Weldon (USDA, Forest Service) about what challenges emerging professionals can expect as they embark on their individual paths to success, and how to overcome them.

The two-day event also will connect emerging diverse talent from across the country with employers seeking to hire and engage such talent.  Through thought-provoking panel sessions, workshops, and high-impact networking opportunities, the event will help change the way employers and diverse young people connect for green career opportunities.

For the first time, I felt comfortable discussing [environmental equity] issues unapologetically with people who are working very hard to diversify this growing professional field. I left the conference inspired by these leaders, and encouraged to continue on my path of leadership as well.
